John 14:6
New International Version
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In this current climate, we seem to see more and more people confused by what qualifies as TRUTH. It doesn’t take much for some of these folks to simply believe whatever is put before them without doing any research whatsoever or having any legitimate basis for what they embrace.
Those who make a living running con games “love the poorly educated.” They know that they make the perfect target for their schemes. They can be counted on to ignore the surrounding facts and any sense of common sense and accept whatever makes them feel good. A lie can be a very powerful drug for those in need of a fix.
But like any addict, one must be willing to first admit that they have a problem. If you have failed to secure anything worthy of being defined as success, then getting high on a lie will suffice. Your pockets can spring a leak, with the contents going directly into a pipeline that fills the pockets of those selling the dream of supremacy.
Genesis 3:4-5
New International Version
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
And such is the promise that has been passed from generation to generation, down through the centuries. Satan has used his minions to run that same game. You can be powerful, your life can have greater meaning and significance, you can be like gods; you can be somebody, someone important, and you don’t have to do anything but be who you are. It can be handed to you as a birthright, just by the color of your skin. How tasty is that fruit?
Whatever is defined as good and whatever is defined as bad by the con artist is what is accepted. Yet we are told in John 14:6 that the Christ is the truth, and the WAY to truth. He is the source of truth, and this truth leads to life.
In fact, before Christ’s followers became known as Christians, they were called “The Way,” as found in the Book of Acts.
But the Father of lies will always bend the truth in an appeal to one’s ego, and the desire for the unholy trinity of the love of money, the thirst for power, and the lust of the flesh.
Proverbs 6:16-19 and Proverbs 12:22 speak clearly that God literally hates a lie. It is the very antithesis of who God is. The line is drawn in the sand, and we are left with the choice as to whom we will follow. God gives true significance to all of us, without the need to embrace a false sense of identity. The fact that anyone seeking and adopting such a lie is a direct reflection of how far they actually are from God, and therefore how far they are from the truth.
We can either love God, or we can love the lie, but we can’t love both. It’s one or the other. That’s the choice. And it’s not nearly as complicated as some make it.
A con artist plays on folk’s weaknesses, their shortcomings, and their desire to fill a void. They merely present a hypnotic, delusional fix. It’s the feel-good drug that delivers empty promises. It’s chasing a high that never allows the addict to achieve their dreams; they simply keep chasing, believing that it will eventually pay off.
They live in the same impoverished state they were in before, and it may even get worse, but they keep hope alive. They can’t break away from the drug. Hate can become a fuel, projection is a tactic, and demonization of “the other” is normalized and defined as godly and patriotic.
They will gladly bow down to the golden calf and worship at its feet while donating all of their worldly goods to create it.
These are those who fit the description of the proverbial boiled frog, those who become comfortable in what they perceived as a nice jacuzzi, but it turns out to be a pot of simmering water, turned up one degree at a time on the back burner, resulting in frog legs on the plate of the con artist.
In the words of President Lyndon B. Johnson, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” No one has exposed the con game any better.
It was never about Republicans VS Democrats. It was never about legal citizens VS illegal immigrants stealing your jobs. It was never about Haitians eating your pets, or bad Mexican hombres bringing drugs across the border. And it was never truly about Black VS white. These are diversions.
It was always about the rich VS the poor. It’s about, and has always been about, the world’s biggest idol god, MONEY, and keeping it in the possession of wealthy, white, male landowners.
For the love of money
People will lie, Lord, they will cheat
For the love of money
People don’t care who they hurt or beat
For the love of money
A woman will sell her precious body
For a small piece of paper it carries a lot of weight
Call it lean, mean, mean green
Almighty dollar
(The O’Jays)
Hmmm, wasn’t that the theme song for Trump’s REALITY show “The Apprentice”? How slow people can be to catch on. And who has pulled off the con any better than this guy?
Yes, white supremacy is a hell of a drug.
