As The Crow Flies – Soaring Towards Justice and Flourishing: The Straight Line Isn’t Always the Easy One: Courage in Conviction

In life, we must take a stance to act morally and make ethically sound decisions. Truth is shaped by what we have internalized over the years: the learned traditions that create self-worth, loyalty, and action in the face of fear. Strength is demonstrated when one takes time to focus on life in the present, while striving for emotional and physical safety, resilience, beauty, and inner peace. Strength dissolves insecurities by redirecting thoughts of lack into emotional security.

Strength is becoming. It develops through focus, consistency, positivity, and purpose. It’s not merely thinking an encounter is too difficult or too easy; it’s the maturity to understand circumstances, feel confident, and promote transparency. One may ask why strength is such a difficult character trait to possess. The response is that many individuals feel uneasy when weighing different opinions, lack self-expression, have tried and failed many times, or practice avoidance (Moser, 2025).

There are various strategies for rebuilding strength and courage in life. One must have the confidence to move forward, even when encountering a road with twists and turns, establish clear and achievable goals, acknowledge endless opportunities, accept that failure is not an option, and ensure you have support systems that improve overall health (Therapy Central, 2025).
