October’s Theme; Panic Attack

This theme addresses the psychological and physiological cost to marginalized communities of color of the negative load of racism. Many municipalities around the country have named racism a Health Emergency.” From Naomi Osaka (Afro Japanese tennis player who opened up about her mental health struggles), Serina Williams was one of many women of color to experience nearly life-threatening pregnancy.
These communities daily share the revelations of differences in physical responses to COVID 19 to the general PTSD of the Soul. This issue is not a “woe is me” topic, but this presents a call to empowerment on all sides of the ethnic divide to deal with this predicament.
“I’m really asking and encouraging everyone in Wisconsin and abroad to take a moment and examine your heart – citizens, police officers, firemen, clergy, politicians – do Jacob justice on this level and examine your heart.
“We need healing. As I pray for my son, healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually, I also have been praying even before this for healing of our country.” Julia Jackson, Mother of Jacob Blake
