The March Theme: Hope Springs Eternal

As we enter the 2023 version of a new spring, the March theme is “Hope Springs Eternal.”  The familiar words were given life from the pen of the ready writer, the English poet Alexander Pope. With so many questions about the direction of America, teetering between a new Reconstruction of a multiethnic democracy or a racialized Anocracy and failed experiment, allow your thoughts to fly above the fray. We are in no way suggesting that we depart from the realities of our day. An encouraging reminder from scripture says that

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.” Isaiah 9:2 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

Our challenge beyond the veil of what is happening in our world is to find a metaphorical light of hope and make it big enough for BIPOC and the Willing of the dominant culture to navigate it together. Know that your voices of clarity stand together as connecting fibers needed to span the divide so you can feel free to take time and shed that light on emerging difference makers and bridgebuilders nationwide.
