The September Theme is “The Eye of the Storm.” The month of September is known as the peak of hurricane season. We, too, have entered a focal point in the conversation of systemic racism. Covid 19 exposed horrendous health discrepancies (Social Determinants of Health.) As we seem to be moving away from the pandemic into a relative calm (Eye of the Storm), those discrepancies still exist. How did we get here, what’s next, ultimately do Black Lives Matter and Brown lives as well in the “Eye of the Storm”?” With this special issue, we will be introducing our new Health and Wellness page of the magazine featuring Tracy Martin and Dr. Fred Smith.
