September’s Edition: Curiosity

In the Northern Hemisphere, the daily loss of sunlight is most significant in September, surpassing that of any other month.  One may ask why this is, as they are warmed with expectations for the fall sports, pumpkin carving, and craft shows.  Another may detest the shortening days as a sign of winter’s impending cold temperatures. Yet, to another, it is a wonderful reminder of the beauty of the changing seasons, sparking a more profound desire to awaken the ‘why-ask-why’ of curiosity.

How many times have people, especially those in the majority culture, chosen the much easier path of Animosity over Curiosity?  If America wants to turn down the boiling pot that we have devolved into, curiosity must become the premier driver toward Empathy, inclusivity, knowledge vs rumors, stereotypes, and bias,
