As I reflect on past Christmas experiences, I have been extremely blessed. Having everything I need while having amazing family, friends, and acquaintances, both new and old, to share in memorable moments. As I got older, I began to understand the true meaning of Christmas. It is not receiving gifts under the tree, singing Christmas carols, or eating traditional Christmas dinner. The true meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ, reflecting on the true light of the world.
I am currently 40 years old, and I still admire the tradition of being with family and friends to celebrate this joyous occasion. It is the most wonderful time of the year, where families reunite and share stories of progression throughout the year in preparation for the new year. Often making New Year’s resolutions and planning for prosperity. Although Christmas is about the birth of Christ, I still dream about the love and closeness the holiday season brings and how I wish to share it with those closest to me. If I had several wishes for a Christmas list, I would dream of a world without hatred and physical or emotional attacks. I have a heart of gold, willing to love and help those in need. My next dream is for peace, although it is a broad term, I wish for peace in the workplace, home, and with family and friends. Peace and safety are valuable, especially in a world of uncertainty. My ultimate gift is to receive new relationship(s), love, peace, and joy this holiday season. Remember the reason for the season.
